GG Flash is built around a simple principle: your data stays on your device. This policy describes exactly what the app does and does not do.

Data we collect

None.

GG Flash does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs that send data off the device.

Data stored locally on your device

The app stores the following on your iPhone only:

Anki deck files (.apkg) you import, including their card content and media (images, audio)
Your review progress, streak, daily statistics, settings preferences
Cached card renderings for performance

This data is stored in the app's sandboxed container provided by iOS. It is never transmitted to GG Flash, the developer, or any third party. If you uninstall the app, all data is removed by iOS.

Network access

The app makes no network requests on its own. The only time the app interacts with the internet is when you explicitly tap the "Discover decks on AnkiWeb" button, which opens AnkiWeb's public shared-decks page inside an in-app Safari view. Any browsing you do in that view is subject to AnkiWeb's own privacy policy and your device's standard Safari settings.

Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder in Settings, the app schedules a local notification at the time you choose. The notification is delivered entirely by iOS — no server is involved.

Third-party content

GG Flash reads the open .apkg file format for interoperability with Anki Desktop, AnkiWeb, and AnkiDroid. The app embeds two open-source libraries that run entirely on-device:

zstd — © Meta Platforms, BSD 3-Clause license, used for decompressing modern .colpkg archives
SQLite — Public Domain, used for reading the embedded Anki database

Neither library makes network requests.

Children

GG Flash is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content, but is designed for adult learners. The app does not collect any data, including from minors.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
